Reports Directly To: Operations Manager

Position Overview:

As a Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the efficient movement of household goods and freight across the United States and beyond. Your expertise in U.S. import/export regulations, customs, duties, and domestic DOT transportation (brokering, Dispatching) will ensure our clients’ belongings arrive safely and on time, whether they are moving within the U.S. or relocating internationally. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage logistics operations, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and lead a growing international Freight Forwarding and Trucking team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective logistics strategies for import/export and domestic transportation of household goods and freight.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations related to customs, duties, and import/export requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the entire logistics cycle, from the initial customer contact to the final delivery, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Liaise with shippers, carriers, and customs agents to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Provide expert advice and support to customers, guiding them through the logistics process and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with logistics partners and vendors worldwide.
  • Lead, mentor, and expand an international Freight Forwarding team, setting performance standards and fostering professional growth.
  • Continuously analyze and optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Brokering and Dispatching

Skills:

  • Proven experience in logistics management, specifically in U.S. import/export and domestic transportation, with a strong preference for experience in household goods moving.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in logistics or international trade are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international customs regulations, duties, and import/export procedures.
  • Expertise in DOT; HOS, Rules, Regulations, Programs like DAT.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
